Procedure Details

60+ year old white North Dallas Resident with Nodular Basal Cell Carcinoma was seen by Dr. Barrows at our McKinney location in 2015. Dr. Barrows took a biopsy of the area of concern and the pathology report came back positive as a Basal Cell Carcinoma, Nodular Type. Dr. Barrows and team recommended patient undergo standard Mohs Micrographic Surgery, which was then performed shortly after. As occurs in some cases where the cancerous cells were deeper than what could be seen clinically, this patient went through 4 stages of Mohs Micrographic Surgery, in which Dr. Barrows followed standard Mohs standard procedure. The final defect size was 2.6 cm x 2.2 cm. Following Mohs Micrographic Surgery, the individual then saw Dr. Matthias Solomon for a repair. One week after repair was completed, this individual came back into the office to get the stitches removed. We then saw the patient again one month later for a follow-up.
