Meet Dr. Matthew Barrows

Dr. Matthew D. Barrows is a board-certified dermatologist specializing in general dermatology and skin cancer detection, prevention and treatment. He first opened his practice in 1996 around the North Texas area, and then later expanded out to multiple locations through North Texas, including McKinney, Rockwall, Allen, Greenville, Gainesville, Dallas, Sunnyvale, Forney, Anna, Addison, Denton and Celina. He is considered a foremost expert in the field of dermatology, and is one of only a few dermatology skin cancer surgeons to offer Mohs Surgery for the treatment of certain skin cancers. Dr. Barrows is proud to service residents from all over the North Texas region with the latest advancements in skin related treatments.

Dr. Barrows is known for his expertise in performing Mohs surgery, a highly specialized procedure that uses microsurgery to remove cancerous lesions from the skin. With precision and accuracy, he continues to be referred to by many area dermatologist because of his outstanding success rates and skill. His dermatology practice is equipped with the latest advancements in laser technology to treat common skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis, and eczema, as well as cosmetically in the form of laser skin tightening and laser skin resurfacing. His team of skilled and trained practitioners are able to diagnose, treat, and maintain countless everyday skin conditions effectively and safely.

Education and Training

Dr. Barrows was raised in West Texas and graduated with a Bachelors of Science from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin in Odessa. He earned his medical degree at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock where he was recognized with the Alpha Omega Alpha Honorary Medical Society Award. Dr. Barrows then completed a General Surgery internship in the Department of Surgery at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, followed by a year of research in the Department of Dermatology where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Barrows is licensed in the state of Texas and has been board-certified in Dermatology since 1996.
