What is Xeomin?
Xeomin shares some of the same characteristics as the popular anti-aging product known as BOTOX. Xeomin has proven that it works in reducing fine lines and wrinkles, mostly used along the forehead and fine lines around the eyes. It is a procedure that is being performed in more than 20 countries around the world. Xeomin, similar to BOTOX, is a medicine that is injected into the facial muscles and used to treat moderate to severe frown lines. It sends signals to temporarily relax facial muscles, preventing a person from being able to contract these muscles. As a result, the fine lines and wrinkles on the face become less noticeable. At Dermatology & Skin Cancer Surgery Center, we will consult with you to see if Xeomin is the right product to meet your aesthetic needs.
"Tammi Dobbs is very attentive and sweet. She really listens to what you have to say always gives options in treatment rather than pushing one. She is by far the best dermatologist I've gone to."- L.B. / Google / Sep 01, 2015

"Went in on 11-7-2017 for follow up checkup. PA Bailey performed it. Scheduled for 9:00 AM. Was called in at 8:58. No wait!PA Bailey did thorough exam and found several "barnacles". She explained that they were precancerous and froze them with liquid nitrogen. This was the first time that I had a good explanation of what was important and what was cosmetic.I had had a Mhos surgery several years ago, and had an exam a year ago by DR Barrows. In both cases the dialog centered on a skin cancer or something that needed biopsy.I feel good about the exam and the removal of growths on this visit. We all get warts and barnacles after we turn 50. This office does a good job of keeping them from being cancerous.I used the restroom in the waiting area. There is a placard with both male and female symbols. It is a one holer with no urinal and a lockable door. I guess this covers males, females, trans genders, Bis, and not sure. Added this comment because of the question after the comment section.I recommend this practice for all seniors with sun exposure."- L.B. / Yelp / Nov 08, 2017
"Dr. Barrows, Ms. Rachel and staff have unequivocally brought me out of a exhausting self loathing State of mind from a hereditary facial issue that I attempted to self resolve for years. Dr. Barrows straightforwardness and Ms.Rachel's empathy with after care has been invaluable. I am extremely thankful.."- D.C. / Google / Sep 18, 2017

A good candidate for Xeomin is a person who is tired of looking older than they feel. They are unhappy with their forehead wrinkles, crow’s feet, frown lines, and other issues. While BOTOX and Xeomin share some characteristics, the products are not used interchangeably. For this reason, you must let your medical professional know if you have recently had BOTOX treatments before using Xeomin.
What to Expect
This is an in-office procedure that is usually performed in less than 30 minutes. A fine needle will deliver the product directly into the skin. There is no pain during the injection, but numbing creams may be applied to ease any discomfort caused by the injection prick. Mild swelling and redness may appear in the injection area, which usually subsides after a few hours. After a Xeomin treatment, there is no downtime, and most patients may resume normal activities.
Xeomin vs Botox
Both Xeomin and BOTOX are similar products, the difference is that Xeomin is purely botulinum toxin type A unlike BOTOX, which has additives. For some patients who have reactions to injections, this reduces the risk of the patient’s immunity to the medication. Other than that, both of these wrinkle relaxers offer similar effects in treating facial cosmetic issues leaving the skin looking smoother and softer with a significant decrease in visual wrinkles and lines.
Is Xeomin Safe?
Xeomin is approved by the FDA and is safe and effective to use. It is a popular nonsurgical facial rejuvenation treatment that our dermatology office offers on a regular basis. In the hands of a well-experienced practitioner, there will be limited side effects and results will look beautiful. After this treatment, patients may have slightly raised bumps at the injection site for a short time. These bumps should resolve within hours after the procedure.
Call to Learn More
Xeomin is an effective way to get your glow back and look younger on the spot. We invite you to call our dermatology office and learn more. In addition, we can introduce you to a variety of other injectable treatments we offer. A growing trend nowadays is a “liquid facelift” in which both muscle relaxers and derma fillers are combined in a single treatment. The goal is to provide you with the outcome you desire and we have the products and trained practitioners to make that happen.
