About PRP Therapy
Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is an extract of your own blood that contains three to five times more platelets, growth factors, and active proteins for tissue and injury healing. PRP therapy can help to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, tighten and tone the skin, produce collagen and improve volume loss. The medical professionals at Dermatology and Skin Cancer Surgery Center perform PRP Therapy for their North Texas patients who need facial rejuvenation, but aren't ready for surgery. One of the biggest benefits of PRP therapy is that since it is made from the patient’s own blood, there is no possibility of side effects or adverse reactions. Patients can learn more by scheduling a consultation.
Patients can add microneedling with the SkinPen to their PRP Therapy treatment to improve wrinkles and scars. While it does not produce the same results as a surgical facelift, the PRP Therapy helps the skin heal after the microneedling procedure.
"Tammi Dobbs is very attentive and sweet. She really listens to what you have to say always gives options in treatment rather than pushing one. She is by far the best dermatologist I've gone to."- L.B. / Google / Sep 01, 2015
"I have been to several dermatolgists in the past. I have never been examined as thoroughly as I was by Ella! To say I was impressed would be an understatement. I have had psoriasis most of my adult life. She diagnosed the stiffness in my joints as psoriatic arthritis. All of the other dermatologist I have seen have missed that completely. She is a Very caring dermatologist and has a great staff. I have finally found my dermatologist."- P.C. / Yelp / Sep 05, 2018

"Alex Brooks PA-C is the BEST dermatologist. She is very caring to all of her patients. She has flexible hours for those working moms and kids in schools. She even works on Saturdays! I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dermatologist on the Grayson/Collin county border."- B.P. / Google / Sep 01, 2018
How it Works
Originally used in orthopedic medicine, reconstructive surgery, and dentistry, the principles of PRP therapy have been applied in dermatology for skin rejuvenation. A small amount of blood is drawn from the patient and then spun in a special centrifuge until the stem cells, platelets, and growth factors are concentrated, turning it into platelet rich plasma (PRP). The prepared PRP stimulates collagen growth for facial rejuvenation that helps to improve wrinkles, puffiness under the eyes, as well as enhancing the overall skin tone, texture, and elasticity.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The prepared platelets rich plasma (PRP) is then injected into the skin or scalp or applied topically to the skin during your SkinPen procedure. After your procedure you may have swelling, redness and bruising. For better results, patents can repeat treatment with SkinPen and PRP every 4-6 weeks.
Plan Your Procedure
Natural Fountain of Youth!
PRP Therapy, with or without microneedling, is a great way to use your own platelets to rejuvenate your appearance. PRP Therapy helps patients with dark circle and puffiness under the eyes, fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth, cheeks, and eyes, and makes the skin healthier, brighter, and firmer. Consider combining PRP Therapy with another professional facial service, like injectable wrinkle fillers, for faster, more dramatic results.
