ABOUT Laser Vein Removal
Spider veins are small blood vessels that are easily seen through the skin on the face and body, and these veins affect an estimated 30 – 60% of adults. These vessels can be red, purple, or blue, and if left untreated, they will increase in number as they start a branching or web like pattern on the skin. Led by dermatologist Dr. Matthew Barrows, Dermatology and Skin Cancer Surgery Center helps patients improve or erase the appearance of spider veins on the face and body using the 1064: YAG laser on the Cynosure MPX Elite laser, Icon laser or the Spectrum laser. Our amazing medical professionals can discuss individualized treatment plans during each patient's initial consultation.
Patients who are good candidates for laser vein removal have visible veins on their body, including the thighs and lower legs, that cause them to avoid wearing shorts and swimsuits out of embarrassment. Some patients also develop spider veins on their face, which can be minimized or erased by laser vein therapy. Patients should be in good general health before the procedure and should tell their doctor if they have a history of blood clots or may be pregnant.
"Tammi Dobbs is very attentive and sweet. She really listens to what you have to say always gives options in treatment rather than pushing one. She is by far the best dermatologist I've gone to."- L.B. / Google / Sep 01, 2015

"Went in on 11-7-2017 for follow up checkup. PA Bailey performed it. Scheduled for 9:00 AM. Was called in at 8:58. No wait!PA Bailey did thorough exam and found several "barnacles". She explained that they were precancerous and froze them with liquid nitrogen. This was the first time that I had a good explanation of what was important and what was cosmetic.I had had a Mhos surgery several years ago, and had an exam a year ago by DR Barrows. In both cases the dialog centered on a skin cancer or something that needed biopsy.I feel good about the exam and the removal of growths on this visit. We all get warts and barnacles after we turn 50. This office does a good job of keeping them from being cancerous.I used the restroom in the waiting area. There is a placard with both male and female symbols. It is a one holer with no urinal and a lockable door. I guess this covers males, females, trans genders, Bis, and not sure. Added this comment because of the question after the comment section.I recommend this practice for all seniors with sun exposure."- L.B. / Yelp / Nov 08, 2017
"Dr. Barrows, Ms. Rachel and staff have unequivocally brought me out of a exhausting self loathing State of mind from a hereditary facial issue that I attempted to self resolve for years. Dr. Barrows straightforwardness and Ms.Rachel's empathy with after care has been invaluable. I am extremely thankful.."- D.C. / Google / Sep 18, 2017

What to Expect
Laser vein treatment may cause some temporary redness, bruising, and blistering to the treated skin, but this should disappear in 2 weeks – 2 months. Patients are advised to rest and avoid strenuous activity after their treatment, and patients should cover the treated areas or use other protection from any sun exposure. For best results, patients may need multiple treatments over the course of several months. For a faster recovery, patients may consider wearing support stockings to help promote better blood circulation.
