Xeomin®

XEOMIN® shares some of the same characteristics as the popular anti-aging product BOTOX®. XEOMIN® has proven that it works in reducing fine lines and wrinkles, mostly used along the forehead and fine lines around the eyes. It is a procedure that is being performed in more than 20 countries around the world. XEOMIN®, similar to BOTOX®, is a medicine that is injected into the facial muscles and used to treat moderate to severe frown lines. It sends signals to temporarily relax facial muscles, preventing a person from being able to contract these muscles. As a result, the fine lines and wrinkles on the face become less noticeable. At Dermatology & Skin Cancer Surgery Center, we will consult with you to see if XEOMIN® is the right product to meet your aesthetic needs.

XEOMIN® is approved by the FDA and is safe and effective to use. It is a popular nonsurgical facial rejuvenation treatment that our dermatology office offers on a regular basis. In the hands of a well-experienced practitioner, there will be limited side effects and results will look beautiful. After this treatment, patients may have slightly raised bumps at the injection site for a short time. These bumps should resolve within hours after the procedure.

A good candidate for XEOMIN® is a person who is tired of looking older than they feel. They are unhappy with their forehead wrinkles, crow’s feet, frown lines, and other issues. While BOTOX® and XEOMIN® share some characteristics, the products are not used interchangeably. For this reason, you must let your medical professional know if you have recently had BOTOX® treatments before using XEOMIN®.

What to expect

This is an in-office procedure that is usually performed in less than 30 minutes. A fine needle will deliver the product directly into the skin. There is no pain during the injection, but numbing creams may be applied to ease any discomfort caused by the injection prick. Mild swelling and redness may appear in the injection area, which usually subsides after a few hours. After a XEOMIN® treatment, there is no downtime, and most patients may resume normal activities.
