About Us

Dermatology & Skin Cancer Surgery Center was founded by Dr. Matthew Barrows in Allen, TX. Since its establishment in 1996, the practice has grown significantly with the company now having 17 medical providers across 15 convenient North Texas locations.

Dermatology & Skin Cancer Surgery Center became an affiliate of Preferred Dermatology Partners in 2018. Preferred Dermatology is operationally led by Medical Director Matthew D. Barrows, MD along with key personnel that built the founding practice and understands what it takes to sustain a successful dermatology practice.

Dermatology & Skin Cancer Surgery Center offers patients several different skin cancer treatment options, including Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Superficial Radiation Therapy. We have a triple-board certified Plastic Surgeon on staff to perform closures and repairs to minimize the appearance of scarring from a procedure.

Dermatology & Skin Cancer Surgery Center also has a private in-house laboratory and Pathologist at the McKinney location. Having an in-house lab allows us to read specimens quicker than if we were using an outside lab.

While many of the offices offer cosmetic treatments such as cosmetic injections and chemical peels, there are four offices with RejuvedermMD Aesthetic Centers. These aesthetic centers offer a larger variety of treatments such as microdermabrasion, laser services and body contouring.

We also offer Saturday appointments and evening appointments at select locations.
