Stubborn areas of fat on your body can be embarrassing, aggravating, and bothersome, especially when you have worked hard to exercise and keep a healthy diet. An effective treatment to target these resistant areas of fat is CoolSculpting®. Learn more about how Dermatology & Skin Cancer Surgery Center is your CoolSculpting® North Texas expert.
What is CoolSculpting®?
CoolSculpting® is a nonsurgical alternative to liposuction. It uses breakthrough technology called cryolipolysis to freeze fat cells in a patient’s problem areas. It is not used for weight loss, but rather fat reduction and body contouring. Our CoolSculpting® North Texas providers recommend this treatment for those that are a healthy weight but have isolated pockets or bulges of resistant fat.
How does it work?
CoolSculpting® works through fat reduction, the elimination of stubborn fat by freezing and killing the actual fat cells. This makes CoolSculpting® a permanent solution to resistant fat on the abdomen, under the chin, on the back, in the bra area, under the buttocks and on the thighs.
During the treatment, our CoolSculpting® North Texas experts will place the device on the targeted area of fat in order to apply the controlled cooling. The patient can expect an intense cold and suction in the area, but there should be no pain. Patients are typically comfortable enough to work on laptops or tablets, read, or take a nap.
When should I get CoolSculpting®?
The ideal time to talk to our CoolSculpting® North Texas providers is early spring. Because results take two to three months to appear, getting the treatment in early spring ensures you’re ready and confident for summer. After CoolSculpting®, you should continue to practice a healthy lifestyle including exercise and balanced diet.
