Meet Dr. Angela Shedd
Dr. Angela Shedd is a board-certified dermatologist with experience in medical and surgical dermatologic care of adult and pediatric patients. She has a wide variety of clinical interests in conditions that affect the skin, hair, and nails. Dr. Shedd is particularly passionate about skin cancer prevention, detection and treatment, with an emphasis on improving skin-related quality of life for her patients. She has published articles in several scholarly journals including the Archives of Dermatology, the International Journal of Dermatology, and the Journal of Cutaneous Pathology. Dr. Shedd is a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.
Education and Training
Dr. Shedd completed her dermatology residency training at UT Southwestern in Dallas after an internal medicine internship at Northwestern University in Chicago. Following her dermatology residency, Dr. Shedd also completed a subspecialty fellowship-training program in dermatopathology. She attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, where she served a year-long term as a campus-to-community ambassador for the School of Medicine and was elected to both the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor and Gold Humanism Honor Societies. Dr. Shedd graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Baylor University, where she was invited to join the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.
Baylor University is also where she met her husband, an emergency medicine physician, and over the years they have served on medical mission trips together both locally and abroad. They live in Dallas and have two children. Dr. Shedd enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, playing sand volleyball, reading/writing, and traveling with her family and friends.
